Instructions
- Make a magic circle

- Slip stitch (sl st) to join to first dc. Chain 1.
- Dc in each stitch around (6 total stitches)
- Sl st to join. Chain 1.
- Crochet 2 dc in the first stitch space. Crochet 1 dc in the next stitch space, and repeat this pattern around (9 total stitches)
- Sl st to join first dc. Chain 1.
- Crochet dc in each sitch space around (9 total sitches)
- Repeat steps 6-9, increasing the spacing each round. Heres what I mean:
- The next row instead of adding 2 dc every other stitch space, you will complete 2 dc in the first stitch space, followed by 2 stitches with just dc.
- The row after that, you should have 3 stitches in between each time you put 2 dc in the first chain space, and so on and so forth.
- You will continue to complete steps 6-9 until you get 5 single dc stitches in between your 2dc stitches. This should give you a total of 24 stitches around.
11. Tie off and use a yarn needle to tuck in loose ends.
You will complete the same pattern for the rest of your tree pieces, reducing your pattern by 2 rows for each tree layer.

12. Starting with the largest of the three yarn pieces, insert the wooden dowel.
13. Tie off the top around each dowel, and hot glue each piece in place. Repeat with all pieces of all trees.

14. Drill small holes in to the wooden base. Add a small drop of hot glue inside the hole, and insert the wooden dowel.
15. Add any ribbon or other decor around the base of each tree if desired.

Notes
This holiday season I decided to participate in two local bazaars. I found a similar pattern on Pinterest when searching for Christmas Trees. I made a few sets to sell at the bazaar and was a little disappointed that I didn't sell either one. Afterwards, I posted them on Facebook, and couldn't believe the interest! I ended up making several more sets, tailoring to people's desired tree color. These trees look so adorable sitting atop a fireplace or desk. Because they are more woodland than Christmas, these trees can easily stay up past December 25th! Enjoy!

Wooden dowels can be purchased easily at Walmart, Hobby Lobby, or on Amazon. You can change the size of your dowel depending on your personal preference/style.
The crochet hooks that I use are actually the Yarnology brand from Hobby Lobby. They aren't available on Amazon that I could find, but here is a link to a set that is pretty similar!
