Quick & Easy Crochet Christmas Tree Ornament
This adorable, quick & easy Crochet Christmas Tree Ornament is the perfect handmade gift for this holiday season!
Materials
- For this project you will need a green yarn of your choice. I used Forest colored "I love this yearn!" from my local Hobby Lobby that was leftover from another project.
- Wooden beads (I ordered mine from Amazon)
- Twine (Mine came with the wooden bead package)
- Crochet Hook (Size 5.5mmm)
- Yarn Needle
- Scissors
Instructions
- Gather up your supplies!

- Start by making a chain of 62.
- Skip the next two stitches (this counts as one double crochet), and working in the 3rd space from your hook, begin to complete a double crochet in each chain space.
- Repeat double crochet in each chain space until you return to end of chain.
- Tie off.
- Use a yarn needle to tuck in ends of yarn.
- Measure and cut piece of twine approximately 24 inches long.
- Thread twine into yarn needle creating a loop at one end that will serve as your ornament hanger.
- Thread needle through the 3rd double crochet stitch at either end of your crochet strip. This will serve as the top of your tree.
- Thread on bead.

- Bunch crochet strip up (pictured below), and continue threading twine through the yarn and beads. This is really where you can get creative. Each one will look a little different, and that's okay!
- Tie off twine on top/bottom of tree.

- Gift, hang on your tree, or enjoy your work as you see fit!
Notes
I first saw these Crochet Christmas Tree Ornaments when I went over to a friends house. I noticed it right away, and she said that someone in her family made it for her. I snapped a picture, and then came up with the pattern on my own.
This is a great crochet project for any beginner, as it doesn't take very much time, and requires less than 200 stitches, and only one stitch type.
While the obvious application for this project is to hang it on a Christmas tree, this project is so quick and easy, you could even use it to accent a stocking, or even use it as a gift tag!
Make this craft your own by choosing any style of yarn or beads! I prefer to stick with traditional Christmas colors, but you could easily alter the supplies to make it fit your style!
I plan on gifting these to people I work with. For me, nothing is better than a homemade gift shared with someone you care about!
